Photographic technology itself did not achieve commercial stability until the mid-1800’s when Louis Daguerre introduced the “daguerreotype”process for fixing a captured image onto a metal plate. Since that time photography has emulated, to one degree or another, all of the artistic styles that are seen in other mediums and produced a few genres such as Infared and Macro Photography that are unique to the medium.
