Representation of the seasons in art is often a reflection of the culture in which the artist lived. The well known painter Pieter Bruegel’s ‘Hunters in the Snow’ painting depicted hunters trudging through a deep snowfall whereas Hendrick Avercamp’s paintings often showed people at play even in the winter.
